Basic Memory
MCP server (AGPL-3.0, ~3.5k stars) whose whole job is persistent agent memory stored as plain Markdown on your machine, designed to live inside an Obsidian vault so you read, edit and graph the same notes the agents write. Semantic search, multiple projects. Because it is one MCP server, every MCP-capable agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Cline) can point at the same store and share one memory. Honest catch: it is not automatic journaling, it writes when told or when a skill makes it, and AGPL-3.0 carries network-copyleft obligations if you ship a modified version to others.
